Yes, you can host a casino-themed party with real casino tables and slot machines for fun, when you don't play for real money or items of value in Ohio. We strongly recommend that you consult your own legal advisor for details. Don't forget to check with your venue for permission, as well. Our casino equipment is rented for amusement purposes only, and users are responsible for complying with all local, state and federal gaming regulations.
No actual money, legal tender, items of value or promises of such may be exchanged while using casino games, unless one carries a gaming license.
If your event is a fundraiser, you should already be aware of the many Ohio rules and regulations that permit your registered charitable organization to host games of chance. See Ohio Revised Code Section 2915.02. The Ohio Attorney General’s office has posted guidelines and rules for you.

If your event is a fundraiser, you should already be aware of the many Ohio rules and regulations that permit your registered charitable organization to host games of chance. See Ohio Revised Code Section 2915.02. The Ohio Attorney General’s office has posted guidelines and rules for you.
Under Ohio law, Awesome Entertainment staff cannot operate the actual games of chance for a fundraiser where money is being used or exchanged, nor can we supervise or assist. (This usually excludes money paid for tickets to attend the fundraiser itself.) The law only allows the volunteers of a qualified charity to operate the actual games of chance.
Also, no one — staff or volunteers — can be paid or tipped for helping run the games at your charity event. ALL of the money generated by the games must go to the operating charity, minus the cost of player prizes.
While funds raised by games of chance cannot be used to pay Awesome Entertainment for rental of our equipment, supplies or other related costs, we ask that you pay for our services in advance of your event. If you are inclined to tip our crew for set up and removal of our equipment, please consider tipping them in advance of equipment delivery, as well.
Our AWESOME staff stands ready to assist you, within the limits of the law.

How many tables do I need? It is important to start with the knowledge that each table has a set number of ‘playing positions’. Blackjack, for instance, has 7 playing positions, Craps 8-12 playing positions, etc. (see chart below). For a traditional Casino Night, we will recommend having enough playing positions for 50-60% of your total guest count. This means that if you are expecting 50 people at your party, you will want to have 25-30 playing positions (approximately 3 tables). If you have 100 people, you will want 50-60 playing positions (about 7 tables) and so on. Based on this information, our casino night coordinator will recommend to you the best ‘mix of tables’ based on what we know to be the most successful and bring the most fun! Blackjack is by far the most popular game, so we always recommend at least one blackjack table!
There are instances where this ratio does not apply. For instance, if you just want a few tables to ‘highlight’ an event where the casino games aren't the primary focus, we might recommend 1-3 tables instead of enough tables to seat the full 50-60% of your guest players. Having other activities and entertainment may reduce this number even more. Or, if you just want one table at your trade show booth or in the corner of an open house, then we can accommodate that, as well. Here is an estimated number of players per game: Craps 8-12 players Roulette up to 7 players Poker table up to 9 players Blackjack up to 7 players Slot Machine 1 player
Cash Vault
1 player
Electronic Wheel Game
up to 6 players

Please note, for fundraising events where real money is being used or won, Ohio state law prohibits us from providing any type of staffing.
When you hire a pit boss from us, this adds an additional element to help your Casino Night run smoothly. They are ideal for larger events and parties, but less essential for smaller parties with only 1-2 tables.
Pit bosses usually do one or more of the following:
Assist in setting up and tearing down the casino equipment
Assist the dealers in counting chips and replacing the cashed-in chips
Assist you in cashing out chips for raffle tickets and/or for prizes
Give dealers brief breaks as needed, subject to event limitations
Help count out/fill casino cups
Help reset games, count chips and refill casino cups
Help you fine tune the little details
Please note, for fundraising events where real money is being used or won, state laws prohibit us from providing any type of staffing.
There are several common ways to determine winners and hand out non-money prizes. Each way is awesomely fun, but some methods may work better than others, depending on your group, the timing of your event, and/or what you plan to give as prizes.
High Score
Whoever has the most in chips at the end of the event wins the grand prize, 2nd-place finisher gets 2nd prize, etc.
Raffle Drawing
At the end of the event, players turn in their chips and receive raffle tickets at a fixed "exchange rate" -- perhaps 1 raffle ticket for every 200 units in chips, for instance. The tickets are then placed in a single raffle drum where winning prize tickets are drawn.
Penny Social
Similar to a Raffle Drawing, but uses a separate basket for each prize instead of multiple prizes drawn from one basket. Players turn in their chips for raffle tickets and place them in only the baskets for the prizes they want to win. Drawings are then done individually for each prize.
Prize Draft
Whoever has the most in chips at the end of the Casino Night gets first choice from a group of prizes, the runner-up gets 2nd pick, 3rd place gets 3rd pick, and so on.
Make your Casino Night even more awesome when you have a lineup of fun and exciting prizes to keep guests engaged and gambling the night away! Remember to make sure you aren't violating any state laws with your choice of prizes.
Some examples of excellent Casino Night prizes include:
Gift cards
Lottery tickets
Concert or sporting event tickets
Spa or massage certificates
Themed prize baskets (spa basket, movie night basket, beach day/pool day basket)
Alcohol (for 21-and-over parties)
Local passes to the zoo, art museum or science center
Airline tickets
Cruises
Puzzles and popular board games

More guests? Awesome! Fewer guests? That's okay, too! To change the number of tables for your event after booking, let us know as soon as possible (at least 10 days prior to delivery), and we will make it happen. Changes are subject to availability, cancellation fees, additional terms and conditions.
For the gaming tables and casino games, all pieces necessary to play the game are included. These may be cards, dice, stoppers, rollers, chips and other game pieces, unless otherwise noted on the product description pages.
When you hire a pit boss for larger events, we usually bring casino cups and fill the cups with chips.
General items you will need to supply include any needed electric power, tickets for raffles, prizes and a dealer if you didn't hire one from us.
For evening events, don't forget the lighting, so your guests and the dealers can see the tables as they play. For outdoor events, we will need a covered playing area away from direct sunlight, rain and other weather elements.
Please note, for fundraising events where real money is being used or won, Ohio law prohibits us providing any type of staffing.
Use Casino Color Schemes
When you think of casinos, chances are a few colors spring to mind. Don’t be afraid to go all-out with the classic black, red and white color scheme. Throw in plenty of green (It’s the color of money, after all!) to balance things out and freshen up the space — it works great on table covers, balloons and confetti.
Go Wild With a James Bond Theme
Celebrate the ultimate spy with a Bond-themed Casino Night. This is especially popular for charity galas — who could resist the air of luxurious mystery? Create the look with themed live music, a sophisticated dress code and maybe even a cardboard cut-out of the 007 agent himself.
Go Back to the Roaring Twenties
Transport your guests back to a time when gambling was prohibited — making it all the more thrilling. Recreate an atmospheric casino or an underground speakeasy with classic cocktails and games like craps and roulette. Ask your guests to don their best 20s attire for an evening of flappers, fun and dancing. Possibly make room for our Great Gatsby Themed Backdrop?
Add a Touch of Whimsy
Your themed party doesn’t have to feel like stepping into a Las Vegas casino. Create something splendidly whimsical with an Alice in Wonderland theme. Take inspiration from the Queen of Hearts and complement your casino games with a checkerboard floor and playing card suits galore. Don’t forget to stage a beautiful, long table where your guests can dine between games. And, of course, the Queen must have her Heart Throne Chair -- perfect for photos!
Lay Out a Red Carpet
Treat your guests to the ultimate VIP experience with a glamorous red carpet leading to our Red Carpet Backdrop, perfect for paparazzi posing. Add our velvet rope, a spotlight or two, and hire a photographer so guests can make a truly A-list entrance. It’s sure to be the most exciting way to arrive at any party. Check out our red carpet rentals here www.columbusparties.com/red-carpet-rental-ohio. And consider our other photo backdrops, including the famous Welcome to Las Vegas sign.
Style Your Tables to the Nines
You can have a lot of fun with your casino party decorations. Use playing cards and giant dice to add interest to your tables or create themed centerpieces. Add a giant balloon arch to style your entryway and decorate with streamers in traditional casino-inspired colors. Style your tables to match with themed tableware, glassware and beverage napkins. You can easily buy casino party supplies online or create your own. Consider our trendy 360 Video Photo Booth as an entryway focal point -- or our LED Glow Furniture to add style throughout your venue.
